About the Book
Christian theology is the theology of Christian belief and practice, the study of which concentrates on the texts of the Old and New Testaments, and on Christian tradition. Christian theologians utilize biblical exegesis, rational analysis and argument in their studies. The sub-discipline of Systematic theology formulates an orderly, rational and coherent account of Christian faith and beliefs drawing on the foundational sacred texts of Christianity. Over the centuries Christian theology has permeated and influenced much of Western culture, especially in pre-modern Europe.

St Paul Teaching on Sanctification A Practical Exposition of Romans VI James Morison Books
A rather brief (less than 100 pages) commentary for such a complex and thought-engaging chapter as Romans 6. Nevertheless, it provides a satisfing analysis of the apostle Paul's intended meanings and corrects misunderstandings and mistranlastions of the texts that, although published in 1886, are still prevalent today. For example, regarding Rom 6:2, Morison states that when the apostle writes "we died to sin", he is not describing the process of sanctification, "a daily dying to sin". He goes on to say that when Christ died, "It is death as the exhaustion of penalty that is spoken of."
Therefore, "the believer in Christ obtains immunity from the penalty of the sins of which he has been guilty," which fact "resolves itself into the might of the motive for holiness."
I think, as small as it is, this is an important exposition that would spur one on to engage the text more studiously and provide a Biblically sound framework for further study.
